Us | Them is a shared practice between the performers and the audience: it opens our ears to hear our environment and each other. It enables us to be present and to care about what we hear. The piece is built in this moment, it is built from all of us. The room's sounds are first filtered through the musicians' interpretation and then echoed by electronics.

The composer is interested in the relationship between sound and space, creative processes, and situational context. The interaction between the musicians, the place, and the audience is the core of the piece, rather than carefully selected notes or sounds.
